We are looking for two talented and dedicated individuals who can provide practical and emotional support to children and young people to help them to make sense of their experience, come to terms with their situation, develop resilience and grow in both self-esteem and confidence.
You will have responsibility for managing your own caseload including assessing needs, building relationships with children and their non-abusive parent, acting as an advocate and working in partnership with schools and external agencies.
This is a varied and interesting role where experience of working with children affected by trauma, both on a one-to-one and group basis, is essential together with experience of providing relational therapeutic support via play, key working, mentoring etc. An understanding of attachment-based practice, neuro science, protective behaviour strategies, safeguarding and working within an ethical framework is desirable.
You will need to be a proactive, organised, flexible and highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills; able to work on your own initiative and in a joint working environment. In return, we can offer you the opportunity to develop your skills and experience whilst being part of a friendly and supportive team. There is flexibility on the hours worked and we offer a contributory pension scheme, 25 days holiday (pro rata) and an employee assistance programme.
Applicants must have a full driving licence with access to a reliable car and be able to undertake occasional emergency on-call duties as part of a rota for which there is additional shift pay (rota shared between all frontline staff).
Your Sanctuary is fully committed to the safeguarding and protection of children and young people and our recruitment practices will reflect this.
