Refuge Support Worker*

Full time 36 hours per week Monday to Friday £25,750 per annum 

Plus occasional emergency on call shifts as part of a rota (additional shift allowance paid)

 

Would you like to use your strong communication skills and proactive attitude to empower female survivors of domestic abuse to live a life without fear?  We are looking for a capable and calm individual to join our refuge service to be a key worker, responsible for risk assessment and risk management, conducting 1:1 sessions with residents to agree and implement outcomes focussed support plans.  You will advocate on behalf of clients and raise awareness of the issues around domestic abuse with other agencies.  A professional, flexible and trauma informed approach to this wide-ranging role is essential.

Knoweldge of issues relating to domestic abuse along with an understanding of professional boundaries are necessary as is the ability to work well as part of a cohesive team.  You must also have good administration and IT skills.  A second language would be an advantage, in particular Urdu or Arabic.
